PROTEC17 is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and energetic political action coordinator. The part-time, contract-based position will primarily coordinate the union’s member engagement around political endorsements and campaigns through the conclusion of the 2020 election cycle. Other member engagement and representation tasks may be assigned depending on union needs and the incumbent’s skill set.
Must have commitment to workers’ rights and/or progressive political work. Legal and language skills a plus. Applicants new to the labor movement and at the beginning of careers will be considered.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to excel while working independently.
- Maintain valid driver’s license, automobile, and minimum auto insurance coverage required by PROTEC17.
- Flexible 15-20 hours per week with work time and days as necessary to meet member interests, including when needed long days, occasional evenings and some weekends.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Compensation will depend on experience. Position will begin be fully or partially remote and transition to office-based in line with PROTEC17’s direction for its general staff and in accord with local public health policy.
